Motorway A3 Salerno/Reggio Calabria exit Battipaglia or Eboli then SS18 direction
Agropoli/Palinuro reach exit Poderia/Palinuro then direction Palinuro.
From south: Motorway A3 Salerno/Reggio Calabria exit Buonabitacolo, then SS517 Policastro direction then
Poderia/Palinuro direction.
By Train: Pisciotta/Palinuro Station about 8 km from Palinuro centre - Bus and taxi available


A huge jagged rock arc is going in the sea to protect an ancient bay that was a natural harbor for the
sailors, like this must be appeared even in the old time to the Argonauts, to Phoenician and Greek who
were use to visit that places.





Palinuro is part of the Centola Municipality district, and it was already famous in the early 60'.
Even now keeps in some zone the wild charcteristic that give to Palinuro the widespread reputation.




Palinuro name, for some people, derive from the unlucky
Enea steersman, that defeated by the exhaustion
fell down in the sea with the steer, while other takes
the etymology from the Greek word: Palinouros which
is composed by two different word "Palin" and "
Ouros"; the second part in the Omero Odissey
means storm , and generally means wind, the first
word can be traduced with "new" or "contrary" that "
turn and come back, Palinuro is synonym of tempest.
